DameBuilder is the curatorial and creative collaboration of Tracy Cilona and Crystal Fosnaugh.
Inspired by the interdisciplinary and collaborative process of the Feminist Art Movement – which fused the personal and the political and art with intellect – Damebuilder creates and seeks out work that is conceptual, collaborative, experimental, innovative, inspires critique and discusses such topics as – gender, race, class and sexuality. We began as a collaborative art project, (not seeing the exhibits we wanted to see or the topics that were vital to us as artists and women)imagining the conceptual framework of our ambition, curating exhibits, making art as a team and individually – in pop-up, one night shows, local galleries and clubs. We expect this to evolve as we do and it may continue or it may end, but it did happen and it was RAD.
